Introduction
GNM or General Nursing and Midwifery is a diploma level course of a duration of 3 years and six months. The course consists of a study duration of 3 years and 6 months for internship to gain experience. The course is designed to train students in handling the patients who are sick or have any kind of injury. In other words, the course is designed to develop skills and knowledge pertaining to treatment and patient care.
In order to apply for the course, students must have completed 10+2 with biology as core subject from any recognized board. Students who have completed FMPHW/MMPHW can also apply for the course on lateral entry basis. The admission to the course is done through an entrance exam conducted by JKBOPEE. But keeping in view the current situation of COVID-19, the admission to the course is done on merit basis. Students are admitted to the course on the basis of marks obtained in class 12th and/or in FMPHW.

GNM Admission Process J&K 2022
After completing 12th with science subjects or FMPHW from any recognized board (JKBOSE, CBSE etc.) or university, students can apply for the admission through BOPEE once the official admission notification is out. In Jammu and Kashmir, the admissions to the course are done on Merit basis. After applying on the official website of JKBOPEE, students need to wait for the merit list issued by the conducting body on their official website jkbopee.gov.in. After that, a counselling process will be scheduled and the eligible students will be allotted colleges accepting the admissions and the allotment list will be provided accordingly.
