  Introduction GNM or General Nursing and Midwifery is a diploma level course of a duration of 3 years and six months. The course consists of a study duration of 3 years and 6 months for internship to gain experience. The course is designed to train students in handling the patients who are sick or have any kind of injury. In other words, the course is designed to develop skills and knowledge pertaining to treatment and patient care. In order to apply for the course, students must have completed 10+2 with biology as core subject from any recognized board. Students who have completed FMPHW/MMPHW can also apply for the course on lateral entry basis. The admission to the course is done through an entrance exam conducted by JKBOPEE. But keeping in view the current situation of COVID-19, the admission to the course is done on merit basis.
